Foreword

Welcome to the 2009 edition of the Directory of Care Providers for Leicestershire, Leicester City, and Rutland. Over the past decade, this document has become the most important resource for anyone needing advice on social care in the area.  Whatever your care needs or circumstances, we believe that this comprehensive listing will make sure that you are able to find the care provider to suit you.  There are also a number of independent agencies that can give impartial advice.  Some of these are listed on the ‘Where to get Advice’  page.

This supplement, now in it’s eleventh year,  is produced by the Leicestershire-based care homes association, East Midlands CARE Ltd in conjunction with Leicestershire County Council, Leicester City Council, Rutland County Council, Leicestershire Domiciliary Care Providers Association, Leicester Forum of Voluntary Providers and the Leicester Mercury.  Information on registration details is taken from the Care Quality Commission [CQC] website.

2010 will see some significant changes in the way that care services are registered and regulated.  Some services may no longer need to be registered, while others will have to register for the first time.  As much of the detail about how these changes are to be introduced has yet to be confirmed we are not in a position to give you further information.  However, up to date information will be maintained on the CQC website.  This can be found at  www.cqc.org.uk. Here you will also find recent inspection reports and star ratings for all registered services.

More detailed information relating to some care providers can be found in the advertisements at the back of the publication.  East Midlands CARE is grateful to all those advertisers who have supported us and made this guide possible.
