Introduction

These are the web pages for the East Midlands Care Association (EMCARE), the body that represents private Care Homes and Nursing Homes for both the elderly and younger adults in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom.

Care or Despair

Leicestershire Local Authority have decided not to increase fees for their clients this year and for the foreseeable future, this is an unnaceptable situation for both resident's and care home owners and cannot be allowed to continue. Work is ongoing by Emcare to try and resolve this issue and protect those in need of care. An article covering our concerns has been written by the Association for use by home owners, residents or their advocates in order to give maximum publicity. Please assist us to remind those in power of their legal duty and download the article.

Consultancy service

As you may be aware Allison Cowley has many years experience dealing with care issues in her official capacity as EMCARE chair and personal experience in running her own care home. It has come to our attention that due to no fault of their own some homes are experiencing major problems. To assist with a speedy solution Allison has offered herself up as a consultant for care homes where 2 to 3 days work may be required. Minor issues are dealt with through membership of EMCARE as they are at present. Email the Chairman to contact Allison direct.

Quality Assurance System

Managing and monitoring the quality of the service care homes provide is essential for good business practice. Quality is established by the standards that are set by the home and by continuously monitoring against those standards. Emcare through a member home has produced a set of manuals that has met with approval of the inspection unit. Details can be found from the Manuals link button.
