Amberwood Care Home Ltd is 44 bed residential care home, and located in
Wigston, Leicestershire. My parents opened our home 27 years ago, and handed over the reigns in 2009. I have managed Amberwood, alongside my sister Katie (who is a registered nurse and Matron of the home) since our parents retired 10 years ago. I have been attending EMCARE meetings and Conferences for the last 15 years, and was recently invited to join Executive Board, a role which I am very much enjoying thus far.
By way of interest, my parents first owned a care home within Leicester city in 1980, and it was here that they had the idea to create a ‘Care homes group’ which they named LARCH (Leicestershire and Rutland Care Homes Association). A few years later LARCH merged with another care association to become the EMCARE we know today.

He sold the company in July 2019 to devote more time to helping other social care businesses. He does this through; his chairmanship of the Leicestershire Homecare Alliance which he co-founded in 2015, his contribution at EMcare, his participation in the national Care Association Alliance, and social care consultancy work.
At EMcare he provides helpful input from the homecare providers’ viewpoint as well as using his background in computers to assist with the work of our digital projects sub-group.
